One bar.
Built because nothing else worked.

The problem was never too many tasks. It was too many places to put them. A thought would arrive and vanish — lost in the decision of which app deserved it.

Tasks in one app. Notes in another. Goals somewhere else. Calendar in a fourth. Every handoff was a tax on thinking. The system was the problem.

Avenor started as one input field. Type anything, plain English, and it figures out what it is. A deadline becomes a task. A hashtag becomes an idea. A cadence becomes a habit. A stray thought becomes a note. No decisions. No friction. One place.

Built by one person. No third-party libraries in the app — every behavior should be explainable to whoever emails about it at 11pm. The swipe gesture took three weekends to feel right. I would spend them again.

Decisions I will defend

The opinionated parts, on the record.

ZERO DEPENDENCIES

No SDKs, no analytics, no UI frameworks. When something is wrong, it is first-party Swift, which means it is fixable.

NO ACCOUNTS

Your data lives in your iCloud. There is no Avenor server. No sign-up. No way for anyone to read your tasks.

HAND-BUILT GESTURES

The swipe row is custom — axis-locked, rubber-banded, haptic at the commit threshold. The system version was close. Close is the enemy of something you touch two hundred times a day.

DARK FIRST

Every design decision is made in Stark Dark first. The other themes are the same bones with different values, never separate designs.

ONE INPUT

Anything the app can capture, the bar can capture. Siri runs through the same parser. Voice and thumbs never disagree.
